Business Continuity
Staffing
Our staffing for continuity planning is strategically designed to ensure operational resilience across all critical functions. Clear succession plans and backup assignments are in place to support uninterrupted service delivery, while regular training and scenario-based exercises keep staff prepared and responsive. This structured approach reinforces our ability to adapt quickly and maintain core operations under any circumstances.
Supply Chain
Our supply chain continuity planning is supported by a cross-functional team focused on maintaining the flow of goods and services during disruptions. CCS maintains updated suppliers and establishes alternative sourcing channels to minimize dependency on single points of failure. Redundancies are built into both sourcing and distribution processes, helping ensure flexibility and responsiveness and minimizing any disruptions to the supply chain in which we source from.
Facilities Management
Our facilities and management continuity planning ensures that essential operations can continue even in the event of building access issues, environmental hazards, or other emergencies. This includes maintaining updated inventories, securing offsite storage agreements, and ensuring transportation logistics are in place to move critical materials quickly and safely. Regular assessments support the validation of our ability to shift operations seamlessly.
Strategies
To ensure continued service delivery in the face of disruptions, CCS employs several key continuity strategies. In the event of staffing shortages, CCS maintains a roster of trained employees who can be reassigned as needed. Teams are structured to be flexible, and supervisors have the authority to adjust shifts and coverage to meet client requirements without compromising service quality.
Supply chain resilience is maintained through relationships with a range of local and external vendors. If a key product or material becomes unavailable from a primary supplier, CCS sources alternatives from secondary or tertiary vendors to avoid delays. Inventory is monitored regularly to ensure adequate stock levels for routine and emergency needs.
In the case of physical disruptions to a client site or CCS’s operating/storage facility, such as fire, flood, or structural damage, management will coordinate with clients and staff to adjust schedules or relocate operations temporarily as required. Causeway maintains several storage facilities across its social enterprises that are capable of acting in place of another in an emergency. When appropriate, CCS can engage pre-approved subcontractors to provide short-term service continuity at the request of the client if disruptions become extensive due to an unforeseen emergency. In this case, CCS will work closely with the client to provide a temporary sub-contractor as applicable.
Response
The Business Continuity Plan is activated when an event threatens the ability of CCS to fulfill its contractual obligations. Such events may include widespread staff absence, critical supply delays or safety issues at a service site. The Operations Manager, Gregory Esnard, serves as the primary point of contact for initiating the continuity response.
Upon activation, the incident is assessed by senior management to determine severity and the appropriate response. The Operational Manager and Supervisor would then assume coordination of operational adjustments, communicate with affected clients, and ensure all necessary actions are taken to restore normal operations as quickly as possible. Internal and external communication is maintained throughout the process to ensure clarity and efficiency.
